Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology, which is popularly known as PIET is a renowned institution of Engineering and technology across North India established in 2006 and is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Department of CSE is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is located on the NH-1 (now NH-44) on the Grand Trunk Road, and is approximately 70 KM from Delhi. Presently, PIET is offering B.Tech. (CSE, IT, ME, CE, Textile, ECE), B. Tech. CSE (AI & DS), B. Tech. CSE (Cyber security), B. Tech. CSE (AI & ML), B. Pharm., D. Pharm., BBA, BCA, BCA (Cloud Computing & Information Security), MCA, MBA, BA (Eng. Honors), BA (Eco. Honors), B.Com., B.Com. (Honors), B. FAD and so forth.
During the COVID-19 pandemic time, the institute came up with online and then blended mode of teaching-learning pedagogy for effective teaching process and installed softwares for automated lecture capturing system using EVOTA and IMPARTUS. PIET has trained teachers for flipped based teaching for developing creative and analytical thinking in the students.
In a sprawling green campus, PIET has launched many novel initiatives, viz., Assured Placement Programme in 2021 to apprise students about the current trends of industry 4.0, wherein the industry's senior functionaries discussed about the demanding emerging technology and learning for placements. The main objective of this program was to make the students 'Job Ready' as per the market trends. Keeping in view, the courses such as, Data Science, Full Stack JAVA Development, Construction Management, Embedded Systems, VLSI and IoT were started. Students were selected by an online test comprising of the questions pertaining to aptitude, reasoning, technical aspects and finally the telephonic interviews. The institute has developed a culture of innovative practices through the establishment of Institutional Innovation Cell under Innovation Ecosystem for promoting Start-ups and set up its Entrepreneurship Development Cell and established Haryana's biggest Incubation Centre with the name RISE (Research, Innovation, Start-Up and Entrepreneurship)
PIET has been recognized by AICTE for establishing the "IDEA LAB" and funded INR 55 lacs to create the infrastructure to establish and support the new age learning under Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The basic aim of this lab is to pool the innovative ideas of the students to promote the entrepreneurship. This lab will provide the platform to develop, nurture and realize the innovative ideas of the students to commercialization.
The Department of Pharmacy came into existence in 2019 with the introduction of academic programmes, viz., Diploma in Pharmacy (2019) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (2020). The Bachelors' programme is affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak whereas the Diploma is affiliated to Haryana State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula, duly approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
The Department of Pharmacy has made professional liaisons with many Pharmaceutical Industries for guest lectures under "Industry-Academia Interface" to apprise students about the recent trends in the industry and making the students "Job Ready".
The summit will provide an insight for the students, recent graduates and delegates to understand the basic concepts of Start-ups and Entrepreneurship. In this summit, the participants would be enthralled by listening about the “Journey of the founders of Start-ups and Enterprises” and their experience would help them to think critically about ideation, conceptualizing the idea, understanding the funding mechanism of the government, protecting the IPR in different stages of the start-ups and commercialization.
The Pharma Summit is open to the young graduates and students of Pharmacy, Bio-medical disciplines, Engineering and Technology and Management to liaise with multi-disciplinary research areas to come up with a feasible and innovative business plan. The best entries in the “Business Plan Competition” will be allowed to present their Business idea and Plan before the jury and would be suitable awarded. The government agencies/ industry can take up the best business plans for funding and/or supporting the ideas leading to commercialization. A dedicated session on “How to write a Business Plan?” would be most fascinating for the budding entrepreneurs.
There will be an exclusive session on "Support Systems for Tech Transfer and Commercialization" by government agencies supporting funding of new start-ups by funding, protecting innovations through patents and commercializing the new products/ inventions. A grand exhibition by start-ups and entrepreneurs will also be the attraction to the Summit.

Panipat: One of the major attractions for tourists, which is about 22 kms from PIET on the Grand Trunk Road (NH-44). Panipat is famous for textile industry and is known as the city of weavers. The main places of tourist attractions are “Panipat Battles Museum”, Hemu ‘Samadhi-sthal’ and camp site of Babur and Akbar at village Sodhapur, the grave of Ibrahim Lodhi, Kabuli Bagh,Devi Mandir, Kala Amb, Salar Gunj Gate, and the tomb of the thirteenth century’s Sufi saint Bu Ali Shah Qalandar.
Kurukshetra: It is considered as the Holy city of Haryana where the battle of Mahabharata was fought and where Lord Sri Krishna preached his philosophy of “Karma” to Arjuna as enshrined in the holy Shrimad Bhagwadgita at Jyotisar, Kurukshetra. It is about 92 Kms from PIET on the Grand Trunk Road (NH-44). The main tourist attractions include Shri Krishna Museum, Kalpana Chawla Planetarium, Brahma Sarovar, Sheikh Chehli’s tomb etc. The city is also known for temples.
